
FALL MAINTENANCE CHECKLIST FOR YOUR HOME
As cooler temperatures and longer nights set in, Fall is the ideal time to do maintenance around your home so you can prevent costly repairs and keep warm this season into Winter.

- Collect & store flowerpots
- Drain and store garden hoses
- Drain gas, clean and store lawn mower
- Plant spring bulbs
- Add bulb booster to new and existing bulbs
- Fertilize lawn
- Sprinkle lime around lawn in dark places to prevent mushrooms
- Resupply bird feeder and check weekly
- Store outside furniture
- Change outdoor light bulbs
- Check smoke/CO2 alarms
- Store summer clothes
- Retrieve winter coats/scarves/hats/gloves from storage
- Move fans/AC units into attic
- Direct drainage away from house
- Clean gutters
- Install storm windows
- Clean grill and cover it
- Store lawn and garden décor
- Set out mousetraps
- Get furnace and chimney checked
- Buy/change furnace filters
- Rake or blow leaves weekly
- Resupply wood pile, wood pellets
- Cut back and mulch perennials
- Take dead limbs off trees and from around wires
- Make sure flashlight, candles, batteries are handy and well supplied
- Seal cracks around window and doors
- Inspect roof
- Insulate pipes if chance of exposure
- Test your sump pump
- Clean your dryer vent
